"The Lemon Sherbets’ debut record wears its influences on its sleeve, from opening track Between Two Smiles, which has the swagger of early 2000s Libertines, to Orange Trees’ Simon and Garfunkel harmonies. The record is a love letter to those that came before, but with enough song-writing skill to stand out from the crowd. The Magical Mr E recalls The Beatles’ more whimsical moments and Bonbon Napoleon adds brass and synths to The Lemon Sherbets’ sound. A warm and sunny record and a promising debut."

BONBON NAPOLEON - COLLAGE VIDEO

The Lemon Sherbets' Belgium correspondent and part time member Mistress Katia informed us that there's a lemon sweet/candy similar to a Sherbet Lemon on the continent called the Bonbon Napoleon.

We thought that would be a great title for our first EP and then it turned into this enigmatic song about naughty boys.

The Lemon Sherbets In The Studio

'I'm gonna take a picture, an instant photograph.'

"On the album there's a little tribute to Mal Evans, The Beatles Road Manager. We were inspired to write The Magical Mr E after seeing Peter Jackson's Get Back documentary and it was really fun to do in the studio. There's lots of little references in there for Beatle People to spot and there's even a bit of comb and paper action on the track too!."
